Scrutinising Labor Government Waste

James Stevens MP,
Shadow Minister for Government Waste Reduction

The Coalition believes that the expenditure of taxpayers' funds must be thoroughly scrutinised to ensure it is in the best interests of every Australian. Taxes must be as low as possible, because every dollar the government receives in tax is a dollar out of the pockets of Australians. It is important to fund the critical services and supports that our society requires, whilst eliminating wasteful profligacy and indulgent expenditure on the wrong priorities. Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has appointed James Stevens MP as the Shadow Assistant Minister for Government Waste Reduction to work with Shadow Finance Minister Jane Hume to appropriately scrutinise the decisions and actions of the Albanese Labor Government and highlight instances of poor and wasteful spending.
